There are a number of add-ons available on the Kodi media player that provide a wide range of TV shows, movies and other content. Chronos, is one of the more interesting and unique. Its focus is on providing a more grown-up experience to the user.

Chronos Addon is a free unofficial addon that allows you to watch the US TV channels that are restricted on the US version of Kodi. This addon will allow you to watch the US TV channels like CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC, etc. This addon is very useful for you while you are living in USA and you will also get the access to the other TV channels that are not available in your country.

So you have Kodi installed on your Firestick or smart device and you are ready to watch live streaming. The problem is that downloading Kodi alone doesn’t give you instant access to live TV, movies and music. Since Kodi is an open source media player, it must be installed and configured to display content. So to really enjoy Kodi and streaming content, you will need to download add-ons.

Add-ons bring Kodi to life and allow users to watch TV shows, sports, movies and more. There are add-ons that can be found and downloaded from the official Kodi repository, and there are third-party Kodi add-ons that can often be downloaded and installed for free. Note that third-party add-ons often contain illegal content, so make sure you use them responsibly! With this in mind, this article explains how to install the Kodi Chronos addon.

Update: The Chronos addon works, but many threads do not work

Use Chronos securely on Kodi with a VPN

Before installing the Kodi Chronos addon, it is highly recommended to set up a VPN if you want to stream content through Kodi. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows you to stream content securely and privately on Kodi and hide your identity and location from Internet Service Providers (ISPs). If ISPs know you are streaming content, they have the ability to limit your connection speed and monitor incoming and outgoing data. A VPN prevents ISPs from interfering with your content and allows you to view content that is not available or geographically blocked in your region.

There are many VPN options you can get, but I use and recommend ExpressVPN for its fastest speeds and zero protocol policy. You can click HERE to get ExpressVPN for Kodi. You get a 30 day money back guarantee if you don’t like the service (which is unlikely).

Now that you know the risks of Kodi and the benefits of a VPN, let’s dive into the process of installing Chronos on Kodi.

To install the Chronos Kodi addon

Chronos is a third-party addon that can be downloaded for Kodi and allows you to stream live TV shows and sports. The addon includes additional categories such as concerts, movies, radio and much more. Chronos has been around for almost a year and is available through the unofficial Kodi repository known as the Skydark repository. To install Chronos on Kodi, you must first enable unknown sources on Kodi. For this, you need:

  • Press the Settings shortcut at the top left of the Home screen (cog icon).
  • Select System Settings for Kodi 17.6 or System for Kodi 18
  • Click on Add-ons in the sidebar
  • Scroll to Unknown Sources and turn it on.
  • Select Yes if a warning message appears

After enabling unknown sources in Kodi, you can return to the home screen and click on the Settings icon again. After you have clicked on settings (the cog icon), you need to :

#1. Open the file manager

#2. Once the file manager is open, double-click Add Source in the left sidebar. A pop-up window should appear with the text Add File Source. Select <No> and Kodi will ask you to enter a web address. Enter the following web address: http://www.skydarks.com/skydarks/.

When finished, click OK and you should be able to change the source name. After entering the name of the media file, press OK to close the pop-up window.

#3. Go back to the Kodi home screen and click on Extras in the left sidebar. On the add-ons page, locate the Open Box icon on the left side of the screen and click it to launch the program.

#4. Then select Install from ZIP file.

#5. This will open a new Install from zip file window where you can see all the sources that have been added. Here you should see the Sky Darks file and click on it. If you click on the file, you will see a single zip file named repository.skydarks-x.x.x.zip. Click on this file to install it.

#6. After installing the zip file, go to Install from repository.

#7. From here you can select the Skydarks repository. After choosing a repository, go to Video Add-ons and click on Chronos. On the Chronos website, select Install (at the bottom of the page) and you’re ready to start viewing content!

Chronos Kodi AddonBenefits

The Kodi Chronos addon allows users to stream a wide variety of content without having to pay for it. This third-party add-on focuses on live TV and sports, but offers much more content to its users. Chronos currently offers 70 live channels, but most of the channels are from Canada. Chronos offers several international channels from Austria and Germany, but please note that some of the 70 channels do not work properly.

With the Kodi Chronos addon, users can enjoy music concerts from around 400 artists and even encounter music documentaries. Fortunately, all music-related links in the add-on work fine. The films, even if recent, are also available on Chronos : You can currently watch 30 recently released movies. Be careful when watching streaming movies (and TV shows), as most third-party add-ons often use illegal sources to obtain this content. Although Chronos is a new addition to Kodi and is in the process of acquiring more content, it has quickly become a popular addition among users!
