| As
the shot begins, we approach the island and tilt-up to
reveal the lighthouse. |
In
this 3D matte painting, the foreground rocks in the image
above is a plate shot on the Oregon coast, the rest of
the island, lighthouse and sky are painted |

|
| The
second image shows us the island as we continue to fly
over the lighthouse. Here, most of the island is a 3D
matte painting with the exception of the water. |
The
water plate was shot just outside San Francisco, and projected
onto the 3D geometry. |

| As we pass
over the lighthouse through the CG fog, waves crash on
the beach below. We get a closer view of the distant road
and on the big screen a view of the blue Ford truck. |
Displacement
maps were used to create complex, organic terrain surfaces
in the foreground. |

|
We
fly closer to the CG truck and over 3D computer generated
trees.>
|
Here,
when the truck passes behind the telephone pole it's
seamlessly switched to a plate of an identical blue
Ford truck driving to a ranch in Washington State.
